Taking a trip to see Jordan has been a dream of mine for some time, and when the opportunity came to go on a week-long Jordan trip with Gadventures, I couldn’t resist. Here are some of the highlights of the tour.
Day 1 – May 13, 2022
I arrived late in the evening so I missed the traditional welcome dinner with the rest of our group. I flew on Qatar airways which were one of the best airlines I have traveled with. The service was exceptional, meals were delicious and there were plenty of movies and other things to keep me occupied for the long 14-hour flight, which went from Seattle to Doha before connecting to Amman, Jordan. I was greeted at the airport by a representative for Gadventures, who helped speed me through the immigration lines and gave me some instructions on getting to my hotel, where to exchange money and the best option for a SIM card for my cell phone. I couldn’t believe it was 10 Jordanian dollars ($18 Canadian, $15 US) for a 10-day cell phone plan with 30 GB of data and 20 minutes of calling back to Canada. I was directed to the Taxi stand where I got a flat rate taxi to my hotel, probably a better option than going with other non-official people asking if I needed a taxi. Within 40 minutes, I was at my hotel in Amman and ready for a long-awaited night’s sleep.
