June 1, 2009 – Day 4
After driving through the beautiful Canadian Rocky Mountains we made a stop in Banff.
We needed to get out and stretch a bit and the kids were a bit tired of being cooped up in our RV. They were only too happy to get our and walk around this tourist town. Every third store seemed to be a candy or ice cream shop of some type. I guess that’s what happens when a town is build specifically for tourism. As a result we stopped for a special treat when we visited Welch’s candy shop which not only displayed an impressive PEZ collection on the walls but also had thousands of types of candy jammed into a tiny little shop.
It started to cool off in the evening and so we walked along the sunny East side of Main Street looking at shops and enjoying our candy sticks before grabbing a pizza to go. The pizza was nice and hot by the time we got back to our motorhome, ready for the drive to some relatives we were parking at in the south part of Calgary.
