Sonaisali Island Resort

We spent the entire day at the Sonaisali Island Resort Fiji. Sleeping in was a treat. It was great for each of the kids to get up whenever they wanted and make their way to the dining-room and help themselves to a filling full American style breakfast. No one had to worry about preparing a meal or cleaning up Zakary’s disastrous projectile mess.

Each of the kids kept very occupied and I hardly had to worry about any of them. First thing in the morning I registered Teyauna and Eli for the Kids Club activities. Their morning schedule included searching out crabs and having crab races. They would draw a circle in the sand and place all of the crabs in the middle to see which one crossed the line of the circle first. Eli being ten years old wanted to be with his older brothers but Teyauna really wanted him there with her and so he kept her company. Teyauna was thrilled to have some kids activities.

They were a bit disappointed that the Hobiecat was broken but they enjoyed their first time windsurfing. It was a great workout for them. I joined Jaeden in a game of Tennis, had fun challenging Eli to a game of Ping Pong and swam in the large pool with Zak and Teyauna. Jaeden and Dailin even played a round of pool. There was also a sandy playground for younger kids between the ocean and resort rooms. It seemed that there was a little something for everyone.

In the evening we enjoyed a delicious three course meal although it did take about two hours before we had all three courses. This was rather long and drawn out and in normal circumstances I would have walked out but this was all part of the resort. It is extremely challenging keeping a baby and little kids occupied for that long. Fortunately tonight was the weekly traditional Fijian Meke show by the poolside restaurant and so we walked over there during our meal to watch the cultural dances and music. This hour long show helped the time pass by a little quicker.

Overall I would highly recommend the Sonaisali Island Resort to anyone going to Fiji. It is a beautiful resort with great food, activities and cultural experiences. My number one recommended place to stay for couples and families.
