About Our Family of 10

You may notice that our blog photos of what we are up to currently include only 8 people in them but we consider our family to be a family of 10. 9 of these family members will be part of our South Pacific sailing adventure. Two years ago a young man who is now 19 came to live with our family and has come to be just as much a part of our family. He is however currently serving as a missionary in Florida for two years and as a result will not be participating in being physically present on our family sailing adventure. Alyssa, our oldest daughter, is now 18 and started her first semester of University in January. While she is not around for the chaos of preparing the boat for our journey, we frequently video chat with her and keep her updated on our preparations. I think she may be relieved to be skipping some of the chaos that goes on. Alyssa will take a break from her studies for the rest of 2013 as she joins us in California (or Mexico) in April. She joins us at the end of her first semester to take the Pacific crossing to the Marquesas Islands and then on through the Pacific Islands for the rest of the year.

    Hi Norm
Myself and my wife Linda attended Amameda Ward 3 weeks ago and learned of your adventure from Wendell (quite a character) and Bruce B. We had been in Utah for Gen Conf. I ought to mention we are residents on the Sunshine Coast in Australia – port of Mooloolaba. I also met up with Mike and Neil the brokers as I had been following their Journey Power Cat project in China. All very interesting….
Anyway I’m interested in following yr trip, we have 7 kids and 18 grandkids so have some idea of moving with large groups – a few years ago 16 of us in 2 RV’s travelled from NYC to LA via all the Church history sites! If you need anything done in preperation for landfall in Australia, just let me know – looking forwartd to meeting up.
